i like iva bittova. she is an incredible and inventive czech violinist/vocalist. it is in the classical genre, but you do not have to be a classical music fan to like her. her energy and creativity remind me of björk, but other than that they are remarkably different.

i also highly enjoy a parisian gal by the name of camille. her music is fun, fun, fun even though i don't understand it. she also inventive with instrumentation and vocals. i highly suggest her music to all björk fans, as they would definitely love her music. i had the pleasure of seeing her perform in a small nyc venue and she was insanely charming, witty and funny. her last album "le fil" is centered on one note (i believe an "e", but cannot confirm it). here is a link to a story on her. ;-)

Joanna Newsom, Roisin Murphy, Matthew Herbert.

Wow I'm probably going to hit way off the Bjork sounding music, but one artist that I love that is strongly influenced by Bjork is...Dj Shadow (of course). Another is Dj One Man Jazz. I grew up on the Wu-Tang Clan stuff, and Bjork is one of the Rza's favorite artists.

Jolie Holland , her three cd releases are very diverse in "content and feeling" ...she is my new all time fave. The Be Good Tanyas latest.."My Love" is a dandy also.... different in style but full of substance.
