for the brit music awards 2006 in the "international female solo artist" category. she is up against kelly clarkson, mariah carey, missy elliot and madonna.

i know that missy is really fond of björk, as is madonna. but i know that björk has said that she doesn't want to meet madonna (and that if she did, she would rather it be by pure coincidence).

  • just out of pure curiousity... did she say why she didn't want to meet madonna?
    • i don't remember why...but this was from way back in the day. she said that if they were to ever meet, she would want to bump into her while they were drunk in a bar or something.
      • "she would want to bump into her while they were drunk in a bar or something."

Why to party or to punch her?
        • I think that she didn't want to be madonna's new "play thing," as was the case with so many other famous people that madonna has been known to spend time with.

i found this from an article:

Last winter, la Ciccione invited Björk to appear with her on the BRIT awards (the English equivalent to the Grammies) to sing "Bedtime Story". "She made sure I got her personal number to call her," says Björk, "but I didn't want to do it."

          i also found this:
ON MADONNA (for whom she wrote Bedtime Stories): "There have been several occasions when it has been self-evident for us to meet, but my instinct always told me the situation would get bothersome and faked. She seems to be all brains and no instinct, even if it obviously can't be so, since she has gotten herself to where she is now. But in the daily life it seems as if she isn't aware of her subconscious, as silly as it may sound. I have tried to avoid her, as much as I could."

hence the line, "let's get unconcsious, honey."

i am glad björk made that decision.
          ;-)
    • Who in the world would like to meet Madonna ?!?!
      • Unsu...

I wouldn't mind. I especially wouldn't mind if she was rude to me.
        • That is just odd. Are you sure you don't mean lude.
          • Unsu...

Are you sure you don't mean lewd?

I did mean rude. The ruder she is, the wackier the story.
            • Oh well I was going for the joke. It's in my nature.

Yes that would make for a wachier story.
              • Unsu...

I shouldn't have tried to logicalize your trickster ancient nature...

                How extremely lazy of me!
                • i got a madonna trak remixed by bjork, maybe they already met!!
                  • This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
"How extremely lazy of me! "

Well I have been told that if I have to explain my joke it’s not good. But I tell them anyway.

"i got a madonna trak remixed by bjork, maybe they already met!! "

What is the name of it? what CD is it on?

I think you are mistaken. Are you maybe thinking of "Bedtime Story," which was co-written by bjork and produced by Nellee Hooper (who also produced Debut and a few tracks on Post)? (See Boricualeenda's previous post on the subject of this song.) Madonna and Bjork did not meet on this occasion, and Bjork only took part in the collaboration as a favor to Hooper.

Madonna actually asked Hooper to produce the entire album after she was apparently blown away by Debut, but he was not game.
