Re: favorite album
11/08ooh...that depends what mood i'm in. they are all so different, and i could never pick one over the others. has anyone ever listened to all the albums and songs on i-tunes in random order? i have done that quite a few times and it is pretty interesting - the differences are 'oh so' evident.
when i am sewing i prefer 'vespertine'. if i am going out and getting ready i like 'post' and for driving i enjoy 'debut' and 'homogenic'. 'selma songs' i love, but it makes me sad b/c of the movie.
of course these aren't the only times i listen to the albums! -

Re: favorite album
11/11homogenic is the album that got me started on bjork..so i listen to that the most. by far -

Re: favorite album
11/11my first bjork sighting was late night 120 minutes on MTV. i can still remeber the first time i saw and heard her. it was the 'cold sweat' video. after that it was 'birthday'. i was hooked forever.
i can't choose one album over the other though, i admire those of you with more discerning palates. i just think every sound she makes is golden (silvery, bronzish, glittery and sometimes stringy, but you get my drift!)

Re: favorite album
11/22greetings from another old-timer (32)... started listening to the bjork and the sugarcubes when "life's too good" came out and have been hooked ever since. That album will always be a sentimental favorite, but "homogenic" is probably my ultimate. that and "vespertine."

Re: favorite album
11/11For me the first time I heard her voice was on Regina from the Sugar Cubes “Here Today, Tomorrow Next Week!” I am not even sure why I bought the album. Between that and the song “Tidal wave” all I was thinking, "This girl needs to go solo".
-----------------------------
Björk
Came from the east,
Like the sun,
But with tired engine,
Regina otherwise magnificent,
Regina in good bloom
Björk
Oh oh Regina, oh oh Regina.
---------------------------------------
Björk
Theres danger, danger!
A tide with an undertow, the sea is swelling
Impatience makes me foam
A wave inside me forces out big words
They splash and sprinkle
An angry torrent breaking loose, a flush or rushing joy
-----------------------------------
She should remake this will someone other then Einar.
Oh yes: Albums they would be “Debut” and “Post” -

Re: favorite album
11/16I think mine are vespertine and homegenic as well. When Medulla came out, I wasn't all that into it, but after repeated exposure, i have learned to love it. Now it's also one of my favorites. -

Re: favorite album
11/16Post was my first album.... Homogenic sealed the deal and made me have great respect for her absolute genius in being able to flip herself inside out with every album. She's always been 4 trends ahead of the trends.
My favorite album is Homogenic although I find myself recently only grabing for Medulla. it took me awhile to fully apreciate that album and I'm still discovery new stuff in that album today. -

Re: favorite album
11/22Homogenic makes me think of being in Iceland... at the top of a hill in Thingvellir! Such a magic place. Such a treasured place in my heart for that album, and that place.
But oh my god, Medulla is such a masterpiece. If you haven't bought the "making of" DVD of the album ("Inner Part of an Animal or Plant Structure"), I highly recommend it! It's only like $12 on Amazon, and it will make you appreciate the album 50,000 times more than you probably already do... or, it'll make you appreciate it if you don't think you like it! Watching the sounds coming out of Dokaka's and Rahzel's or Mike Patton's mouths is an amazing experience, and hearing Bjork talk about her processes is magical.

Re: favorite album
11/22I just picked up Medulla at Best buy for $12.99 no shipping no waiting.

Re: favorite album
11/22yes! i totally agree about the making of medulla dvd. it not only is amazing, but it is really funny too. mike patton and dokaka's vocal techniques had me laughing (when you see it, you will know what i mean).
it will definitely make you hear the album differently, helping you appreciate it even more (well...if that is possible!).
